Common Routes rebuilds community, one walk at a time.

Everyone’s invited. Everyone’s welcome.

Young, old, four‑legged or otherwise. Local people meeting in nature.

No pressure. No politics. No agenda.

Just shared space, conversation, and real connection.

Because society doesn’t live online. It lives outside your front door.

Let’s rediscover our routes to The Commons together.

We exist to bring people together.

Common Routes is a community walking group in Welwyn Garden City that meets monthly at the Coronation Fountain, on the corner of Howardsgate and Parkway (What3Words: ///rocket.dogs.invent).

It creates a simple space for people to connect in an increasingly disconnected world.

With no pressure or expectations, just a shared walk, it offers a warm, welcoming environment inspired by the idea of the commons: a space where anyone can belong.

From this simplicity, friendships and a sense of community grow naturally. What begins as a walk often becomes something more meaningful connections and shared experiences that extend beyond it.

It’s a reminder that when we create the opportunity, people come together, because everyone needs a place to belong.
